Another Review of Bump Bump That Misses The Point

BUMP BUMP! feat. VERBAL (m-flo) « GoldHikari.

Verbal’s hat! Why is everyone refusing to mention how Verbal’s hat is crucial to appreciating this single? I suspect a conspiracy of some sort… Die does bring up that this is a low-water mark for BoA’s career, but nope, no word on the hat.

BoA – BUMP BUMP! feat. VERBAL (m-flo) « Beyond the Sea ~ The Style. Edition.

How can one review this single without a single mention of Verbal’s hat? The hat is the best thing about it all!

Oh, but Lex focuses on the music and other boring aspects, judging the release solid and thinking it’ll grow on him. But the hat! It’s… hypnotic…

Korean singers up prominent on Oricon Charts for 1st week of November « K Bites.

First Yon-sama, now this…!

Seriously, though, BoA’s been a Japanese act for so long and DBSK’s made its mark that it just seemed inevitable that they and Big Bang (who’ve been making a real strong push) would all hit the top ten on the same week.

Now if only Lady would try to conquer the shores of Japan… Ahh, be still my heart.

Anna takes time to ponder BoA’s masculine haircut and suit for her latest PV, “BUMP BUMP”, as well as comparing the camerawork to that of Koda Kumi’s “Physical Thing” video.

Frankly, I’m still wondering about Verbal’s hat.

BUMP BUMP! (PV) – BoA feat. VERBAL (m-flo) « What is DISCO?.

Selryam likes this newest release from BoA, finding such a lightweight R&B song playing to her strengths. Sel’s not too impressed by the PV, though I think it helps to focus on Verbal’s hat – it’s like he’s the Grand Poobah of the Loyal Order of Water Buffalo. (And what is it about m-flo and hats lately?)

Double Standard when it comes to Celebs? Hmm…

ahhyala begins by addressing inflammatory MySpace comments made by 2PM’s Jaebeom…and why his are dismissed when Jessica H.O.’s similar (and quotes) comments led to fan outcry years ago. A great article follows, investigating the trend of gender roles and fan treatment in the K-Pop community. A fascinating, possibly shocking read if you’re still toeing the waters of K-Pop (like me).
